Beautiful, handmade functional stoneware pottery & all natural artisan soaps that look more like fudge!

 

What inspires you to make what you sell? ~ OR ~ What are you most proud of making?

I have always had a draw to clay and pottery every since I was a child. There is something about making pots that brings me great peace........ As for the soap - I developed crazy sensitive skin many years ago and finding something that I could use without scorching it was a challenge. Being a little on the tenacious side, I decided I could make my own and do better......... and I did! It kind of snowballed from there.....

 

Is there anything else you'd like people to know?

My pots come from my heart. My clay work reflects how I'm seeing the world around me. Perhaps this is why I prefer clean lines and color over the dramatic. I'm primarily self taught - I love to experiment and play in the studio! Clay in its raw form and pots in their finished form are such a tactile experience. A cup or bowl needs to be held and enjoyed. If it feels good in your hands, you will actually use it! All of my stoneware pots are dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer safe. And the soaps? Scent can take us so many places and colour is just such a treat for our eyes. Truly, my soaps are another artistic outlet for me. I like to keep it light - not assault the sinuses, but be there just enough to make you close your eyes and say "yum"! A few years ago I wanted to make my soaps look more appealing. They already felt great on the skin, but they needed a kick. In the past year or so, they have really started to take on a life of their own and I'm sure I'm far from finished finding the art potential there. Currently - they look an awful lot like fudge!!! Looks good enough to eat ....... tastes like soap......!

 

If you could travel far far away, where would you go right now?

Spain!!!!
